Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Kneginja Richter, an expert in the field of online counseling, the Nuremberg Technical University, in cooperation with the sleep clinic of the Nuremberg Clinic and the German Society for Sleep Research and Sleep Medicine (DGSM), offers an innovative training course: the Hochschulzertifikat Schlafberatung Online.

Prof. Dr. Richter has made it her mission to combine sleep counseling and digital counseling formats in order to better reach people with sleep problems. With her expertise and many years of experience, she has developed a continuing education program that enables professionals from medicine, psychology and psychosocial counseling to effectively support those affected in an online setting.

Sleep disorders affect up to 35% of the population, but many sufferers cannot access professional help. This is exactly where Prof. Dr. Richter comes in: she transfers scientifically based content, such as cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), into a modern online format that is low-threshold and flexible.

The training course under her leadership teaches the basics of sleep medicine, methods for preventing and alleviating sleep disorders, and the special features of text-based and video-based online counseling. Participants also learn how to optimally implement counseling processes in legal, technical and organizational terms.

Institute for e-Consulting

The Institute for E-Counselling offers further training in online sleep counseling with Prof. Dr. Kneginja Richter under the auspices of the DGSM. The training is currently the only training course that combines the areas of sleep and online counseling in this form. For the participants, this means an expansion of their own professional skills and contributes to the development of new professional perspectives as proof of qualification.
